Pune police register FIR against 10 parties over construction slab collapse



The Pune police registered an offence against 10 parties in connection with the Balewadi slab collapse incident on Friday evening. Assistant Police Inspector Pramod Ambadas Kshirsagar lodged the first information report (FIR) in this case at the Chaturshingi police station.

The police have booked joint owners of the Park Xpress Joint Venture including Arvind Jain, Shravan Agarwal of Shrinivas Developers and Pride Purple Properties, Kailas Wani of Samarth Group, Sham Shende of Abhinav Group, Mahendra Kamat, Bhavin Harshad Shahof Mrigank Construction Private Limited, Project in-charge of Park Express joint venture Dnyaneshwar Chavan and Santosh Chavan, architech Pradip Kusumkar, structural engineer Hansal Parikh and Associates, under sections 304, 337, 338, 34 of Indian Penal Code, sections of the Maharashtra Ownership of Flat Act 1963 and sections of the Maharashtra Regional Town Planning Act.

As per the FIR, Jain, Arvind Jain, Shravan Agarwal, Kailwas Wani and Sham Shende allegedly entered into an agreement with Mrigang Construct Private Limited for building more floors than mentioned in the construction map approved by the government authorities. Accordingly, Kamat, Bhavin Shah, Dnyaneshwar and Santosh Chavan, Kusurkar and Hansal Parikh and Associates allegedly conspired to start construction of 14th slab illegally at the site and did not take the necessary measures for security of the labourers. Senior police inspector Dayanand Dhome is investigating the case.
